Job description

The Inventory Control Specialist performs activities pertaining to the company’s inventory control processes, such as cycle counting, finding variances in our data, and working with cross-functional teams to correct system errors. Requires performance of the necessary duties and activities which will facilitate the movement, storage, reconciliation and delivery of all materials between company facilities as well as local vendors, suppliers, and customers. Regular activities include counting, receiving, storing, maintaining inventory of all materials and finished products that enable the achievement of customer delivery requirements. Will also act as a back up to the warehousing team. Document records on inventory and incoming and outgoing shipments. Receives goods and prepares products for shipment to customers.


Essential Duties: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

• Count and reconcile inventory from pre-established inventory reports.

• Prepare, update, and maintain necessary records related to inventory control. Ensure said records are regularly reviewed and accurate to support the planning, operations, and customer services functions.

• Support the cycle counting program by verifying and updating system errors to ensure accuracy.

• Receives, unpacks, and routes incoming shipments. Also rejects and reports any defective or damaged items ensuring shortages are properly recorded.

• Assists in managing the outgoing shipments, including preparation of paperwork, labeling, and packaging of product to be shipped including supporting the arrangement of transportation services.

• Ensure parts are properly picked and delivered to the correct location by utilizing both internal and external systems and resources.

• Identifies raw materials and ensures they are properly stored in a way that maximizes the warehouse efficiency.

• Delivers non-inventory items to their corresponding areas.

• Assists with relabeling, repackaging, and reprocessing procedures to ensure the prevention of defects.

• Completes all required and relevant trainings, and attends all scheduled meetings.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe and secure work environment.

• Support the upkeep and orderliness of the warehouse.

• Utilize warehouse machinery including pallet jacks and forklifts as needed in a safe and courteous manner.

• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• The person in this position will frequently move about inside and outside the building to access other offices, meeting rooms, warehouse and manufacturing areas. The person in this position frequently communicates with vendors, and co-workers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Work Environment:

• Generally works in a warehouse environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties in a typical office setting. Normal manufacturing conditions requiring safety observation at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

• Minimum of 1 year Shipping/Receiving/Inventory or applicable experience

• Prior warehouse or package handling experience

• Detail orientated individual who can operate under minimal supervision

• Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office programs

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Mathematical aptitude

• Willingness and ability to collaborate with a cross functional team

• Valid and current fork truck certification or license

• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds with material handling equipment
