'Entry level' means they are new to the industry or have limited experience. These drivers are responsible for managing their own business operations, including scheduling, maintenance, and finances, while working with intermodal carriers to move goods efficiently. To thrive as an Entry Level Intermodal Owner Operator Truck Driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), knowledge of DOT regulations, and basic mechanical aptitude. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS routing systems, and intermodal container handling equipment is typically required. Strong time management, self-motivation, and effective communication skills set top drivers apart. These skills and qualifications are essential for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of freight in a regulated and time-sensitive industry.
