Summary

We are recruiting for an Energy & Efficiency Specialist based in Calgary, to join the Environment Solutions team. The successful candidate will review equipment inventories and site processes, select equipment, prepare technical proposals, leverage industry funding programs and over-see order execution to meet customer specifications and requirements. ย Working with many other Spartans, you will gain valuable insight into carbon value, water innovation, ways to improve air quality, how to make energy efficiency improvements across all industries. You will also apply the strategic elements required to successfully execute on order commitments and implement solutions that improve environmental outcomes for Spartan Controls and the customers we serve. This position reports to the Manager, Environment Solutions.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide solutions and customer service to a variety of customers throughout western Canada in the Upstream Oil & Gas, Oil Sands and Process & Infrastructure industries such as Pulp & Paper with opportunity to lead initiatives within a given industry
  • Align Spartan solutions with funding available and support applications
  • Understand new environmental regulatory requirements and drive actions accordingly
  • Determine customer equipment needs and provide analytical and technical solutions for control equipment and instrumentation to improve customers' environmental outcomes
  • Provide analytical support for business cases
  • Collaborate with customers to develop solutions, as required
  • Produce proposals, document packages and order control equipment
  • Presentation development and delivery
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Familiar with upstream and midstream oil and gas operations
  • Previous field experience is an asset
  • Ability to be "out front"ย 
  • Positive, outgoing, engineering skillset with a passion to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to combine technical problem-solving skills with an interest in business strategy
  • Strong ability to keep a team cohesive and moving forward
  • Effective use of multiple communication tools, verbal and electronic, to provide excellent customer support, strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented, strong time management and computer skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite and computer programming is considered an asset
  • Innovative and highly motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial work ethic / "do what it takes" attitude; proven ability to work independently
  • Strong team player and relationship builder and communicator
