Job description

Mako Industries is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Instrument Fitter / Tubing Technician to install, assemble, and maintain instrumentation systems and tubing on industrial sites. This role involves precise work with small bore tubing, fittings, valves, and instruments to ensure leak-free and efficient performance in line with project specifications and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and tubing layouts to perform installations.

  • Install, bend, and route small bore tubing (typically 1/4" to 1") using hand or power tools.

  • Assemble and install instrumentation equipment, including transmitters, gauges, and analyzers.

  • Use proper techniques for Swagelok, Parker, or other compression fittings to ensure leak-free connections.

  • Conduct hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing on tubing systems.

  • Work closely with Instrument Technicians, Electricians, and Engineers to ensure seamless system integration.

  • Ensure all work complies with HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) policies and quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of installations, modifications, and maintenance activities.

  • Report any defects, unsafe conditions, or non-conformities promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Instrument Fitter / Tubing Technician in industrial or process environments.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings (P&IDs, loop diagrams, tubing isometrics).

  • Skilled in manual and hydraulic tube bending, cutting, deburring, and flaring.

  • Knowledge of instrument fittings, valves, and supports (e.g., Swagelok, Parker).

  • Understanding of process instrumentation and control systems.

  • Familiarity with HSE standards and best practices.

  • Physically fit and able to work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
