Install Technician I
Position Type: Full-time, hourly position eligible for overtime.
Compensation: $18 per hour plus bonus incentives. Potential for additional $175 per week in incentives
High-performers can advance to Tech 2 or even Crew Lead after 6 months, with earnings potential of $18 per hour + potential for additional $260 per week in incentives for Tech 2 and $23 per hour + potential for additional $850 per week in incentives for Crew Lead
Job Summary:
The Install Technician I is responsible for proficiently installing insulation materials in various structures while ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and project specifications.
Essential Functions:
The Essential Functions are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Installation of insulation materials:
    • Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific areas according to blueprints or specifications.
    • Install insulation materials, such as fiberglass, foam, or cellulose, in walls, ceilings, floors, and attics.
    • Seal insulation in place using staples, adhesive, or other securing methods to ensure proper coverage and effectiveness.
    • Install roof vents in attic spaces to ensure proper ventilation and optimize insulation performance.
  • Safety Compliance and Maintenance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while handling insulation materials and equipment.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards and facilitate efficient workflow.
    • Perform routine maintenance on insulation equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Driving & Vehicle Operation:
    • Safely operate company-owned vehicles and trucks in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
    • A driver's license is not required for this job, but will provide faster growth opportunity to a Crew Lead position if you have one.
    • Successfully complete all required driver training prior to operating a company vehicle and comply with all ongoing training, safety, and compliance requirements.
    • Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any safety, mechanical, or operational concerns in accordance with company procedures.
    • Maintain eligibility to drive by holding a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being operated and, when required, a valid DOT Medical Certificate.
    • Operate company vehicles only when properly authorized, trained, and insured under the company's motor vehicle insurance program.
    • Immediately notify management of any changes to driving eligibility, including but not limited to license status, driving record, medical certification, or insurance eligibility.
    • Refrain from operating company vehicles at any time when training, insurance authorization, licensure, or DOT medical certification requirements are not met.
    • While Crew Leads are the preferred designated drivers, employees in this role may be required to drive company vehicles when operational needs require and when all eligibility, training, and compliance requirements are satisfied.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with various insulation materials, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a team environment.
  • Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

  • Warehouse Environment: This position is based in a warehouse, which serves as a base for many of our operations and includes equipment and material storage areas.
  • Customer settings: This position is based in customer settings and will require work in and out of doors, including in attics, basements, small-confined spaces, and rooftops.

Physical Demands:
  • This job requires travel in a company-provided vehicle.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, crawl, or kneel in confined spaces. The employee may be required to lift up to 60 pounds, and must be able to climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, and move up and down stairs safely.
