Position:  Infrastructure Management - Level I

Location: Rosslyn, VA, 

Clearance:  Secret

The Infrastructure Manager Level I is an entry-level IT professional responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization's IT infrastructure. This role focuses on assisting with basic system configurations, monitoring infrastructure performance, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. The Level I specialist works under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure the reliability and security of IT systems.  Duties are:
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage systems, and network devices. Monitor infrastructure performance and report issues to senior staff.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
  • Support the implementation of system upgrades and patches.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Provide technical support to end users for infrastructure-related issues.
  • Assist in maintaining system security by following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure infrastructure reliability and performance.
  • Conduct routine checks of system health and resource utilization.
  • Learn and apply best practices for infrastructure management and operations.
 
Professional Qualifications/Skills
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  •  Minimum of 1 year of experience in IT infrastructure support or a related role.
  • Basic understanding of server and storage systems, including Windows and/or Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Server+ or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, are preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization platforms, such as VMware or Hyper-V, is a plus.
