Responsibilities
  • Identify customer needs for commercial vehicles (work trucks, vans, flatbeds, dump trucks, box trucks etc.).
  • Provide solutions within #1 Cochran's 40 locations based on the customer's business needs, their industry.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of commercial truck specifications, capacities, and capabilities.
  • Stay updated on new models, technologies, and features, such as payload, towing capacity, fuel efficiency, and up fitting options and vendors (dump truck, Interior racks, shelving).
  • Work with customers and third-party vendors to customize trucks to meet specific business requirements (refrigeration units, toolboxes, or custom decals).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with businesses that require multiple vehicles, offering fleet management solutions.
  • Negotiate bulk pricing, with appropriate fleet size
  • Prospect new clients through networking, referrals, cold calls, and attending industry events.
  • Build long-term relationships with existing customers for repeat business.
  • Present vehicle options, arrange test drives, and explain financing or leasing terms.
  • Close deals and complete necessary paperwork for sales transactions.
  • Ensure customers are informed about licensing, registration, and insurance requirements for commercial vehicles.
  • Stay updated on Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Coordinate with service departments for after-sales support, including maintenance plans and warranties.
  • Address customer concerns and provide solutions for vehicle performance or repairs.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Tech savvy and comfortable with computers
  • CDK experience preferred
  • One year of experience in automotive commercial sales preferred
  • Ability to work well with the public and internal team members, sometimes with several customers at a time
  • Must have a valid driver's license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
