Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as a Clinical Intern under the guidance of a licensed nurse. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in patient care, supporting individuals across various age groups and developmental stages.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily hygiene including bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, and grooming.
  • Provide skin care while taking precautions to prevent breakdown.
  • Support physical activities such as repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers.
  • Help meet nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, and monitoring dietary restrictions.
  • Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately.
  • Perform sit baths, postmortem care, and apply therapeutic devices like TED hose and ice packs.
  • Lead and encourage participation in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out technical nursing procedures within credentialed scope, including oxygen therapy, catheter insertion/removal, IV discontinuation, suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, injections, and NG tube maintenance.
  • Conduct patient assessments and collaborate closely with primary nurses.
  • Educate patients and families alongside nursing staff.
  • Document all care activities thoroughly and promptly in medical records.

Education
Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education without meeting licensing requirements.
Experience
Entry-level position; no prior experience required.
