Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Infectious Disease Physicianto the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services-from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults-all designed to keep our community healthy.The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details:

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient HIV and infectious disease care.
  • Perform thorough patient evaluations, physical examinations, and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic infectious conditions in a high-volume academic medical setting.
  • Order, interpret, and integrate diagnostic and therapeutic testing to guide clinical decision-making.
  • Prescribe and manage appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment regimens.
  • Collaborate with Infectious Disease Attendings and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Educate, mentor, and supervise Advanced Practice Providers, Residents, and Medical Students.
  • Support the academic mission through teaching and clinical instruction.
  • Maintain continuity of care through flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Share clinical responsibilities with Attending Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners.
Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted New York State medical license.
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease.
  • Must meet the qualifications of an HIV Specialist as defined by the NYSDOH AIDS Institute.
  • Current DEA registration, Controlled Substances licensure, and BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $246,000* (Board Eligible); $251,000* (Board Certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $366,120** (Board Eligible) and $371,620** (Board Certified),which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
