Entry Level Infectious Disease Nurse Practitioner Jobs

Position Summary

Premier Infectious Disease (PID) is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to provide high-quality infectious disease care across our growing continuum of care. The provider will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients in assigned practice settings while collaborating closely with PID physicians, facility teams, patients, families, and other members of the care team.

This is a Monday - Friday position designed for a clinically strong, highly accountable provider who is comfortable working across multiple care settings and managing an independent daily workflow within an established infectious disease practice.

Practice Settings

The APP may provide infectious disease services at PID-designated locations, including:

• Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs)
• Post-Acute Care facilities
• Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs)
• Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACHs)
• Premier Infectious Disease clinic locations

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday through Friday.
• Daily schedule and facility assignments will be based on patient volume, facility needs, and operational requirements.
• Travel between assigned practice sites within the service area is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with infectious disease conditions at assigned practice sites.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising/collaborating physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Perform appropriate follow-up evaluations and monitor response to treatment, laboratory results, cultures, imaging, antimicrobial therapy, and changes in clinical condition.
• Provide timely clinical recommendations and communicate changes in the plan of care to facility staff, physicians, patients, and families as appropriate.
• Coordinate transitions of care and facilitate escalation or transfer to a higher level of care when clinically appropriate.
• Perform procedures within the APP s scope of practice, training, privileges, and assigned practice setting.
• Complete all clinical documentation, charge capture, and billing-related requirements accurately and timely.
• Maintain complete, billable medical records consistent with PID standards, facility requirements, payer requirements, and applicable law.
• Participate in required facility meetings, clinical meetings, quality initiatives, and other reasonable administrative activities related to patient care and facility privileges.
• Maintain effective communication with PID leadership regarding patient-care concerns, operational barriers, facility needs, and opportunities to improve care delivery.
• Comply with PID policies and procedures, HIPAA, CMS requirements, facility policies, and all applicable federal and state laws and professional standards.

Productivity & Performance

This role operates within a productivity-based compensation model. The successful provider is expected to manage assigned patient responsibilities efficiently, maintain timely and accurate documentation and charge capture, and consistently support appropriate patient access and continuity of care. Specific compensation terms and productivity methodology are outlined in the employment agreement.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Florida APRN or Physician Assistant license, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current national board certification applicable to the provider s discipline.
• Current DEA registration and all other required prescribing credentials, or ability to obtain.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification; additional certifications as required by assigned facilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing, medical staff appointment, and clinical privileges at all assigned practice sites.
• Infectious disease, hospital, post-acute, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or complex medical management experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, communication skills, and ability to work independently within scope of practice.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between assigned facilities.
