Title: Industrial Engineer / Analyst – Manufacturing Operations

Location:       GE Transportation (A Wabtec Company) – Las Vegas, NV

Overview:

We have need for an entry level Industrial Engineer. This position would be responsible for analyzing, impacting, and reporting cost and reliability activities for the several manufacturing locations.  The candidate will interface with respective Wabtec management to evaluate manufacturing operations, existing cost and reliability metrics in addition to time and motion studies.  As such the talent should have a degree in Engineering or Business with experience in project management and cost analysis.  Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description/Details:


Support various teams by validating reporting accuracy:

  • Assist with identification and resolution of gaps in reporting in across facilities.
  • Monitor transactions and work order aging cases to discover reporting gaps.
  • Lead efforts to develop reporting process for manufacturing processes.
  • Assist Variance, BOM teams and Sourcing toward improving internal and vendor reporting.

Become Proficient in Oracle Business Intelligence Reports/Analysis:

  • Become proficient in understanding and resolving reporting issues.
  • Validate shop routers where applicable, and direct floor teams modifications when required.

Support Variance Team in Identification and Tracking of Projects:

  • Through Variance analysis and production monitoring, identify areas of potential focus for the cost out teams.
  • Assist in tracking current and upcoming projects as to facilitate implementation and to enhance estimating of Variance impact.
  • Providing assistance to cost out teams where project roadblocks are identified, as to expedite project implementation.

Assist in Standard Setting Process and Inventory Control:

  • Participate in training sessions on new standard setting processes.
  • Assist in yearly cost standards review process.
  • Develops work measurement procedures and directs time-and-motion studies to promote efficient and economical utilization of personnel and facilities
  • Assist with Inventory reconciliation efforts as necessary.

Assist and lead various Quality Efforts:

  • Creating, maintaining, and updating of quality processes and documents.
  • Support Culture of Quality – using Wabtec tools to ensure processes and policies are followed and all misses are documented and corrected appropriately.

Desired Skills:


  • Must be detailed oriented and able to take on new tasks without heavy oversight.

  • Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Qlikview and other database programs as needed.

  • Able to create basic tools (spreadsheets, reports) using standard software such as Access, Excel, SQL.

  • Creative with ability to solve problems of low to high complexity to meet customer objectives.

  • Knowledge with various reliability tools and statistics.


Qualifications/Requirements:

BS in Engineering or Business with related supply chain or material management experience.
