Job description

Overview:

The Risk Management Coordinator plays a critical role within the Risk Management Department, supporting the team in all aspects of risk and litigation management. Primary functions of the RMC include managing a high volume of claims, assisting with litigation matters, reviewing contracts for risk transfer opportunities, and ensuring compliance with Company insurance requirements. This role also provides critical administrative and operational support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in claims and litigation processes, proficient in Microsoft Office and AI tools, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while working independently when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Incident & Claims Management: Managing a large volume of general liability claims; submitting claims, conducting claims investigation, researching risk transfer opportunities, and driving quick and efficient claims resolution.
  • Litigation Support: Assisting in-house counsel with discovery management, research& investigation, and trial preparation.
  • Contract Review: Reviewing tenant leases and vendor contracts to determine tender opportunities; working with insurance carriers to ensure tenders.
  • COI Compliance: Working with outside vendors to ensure proper handling of Company’s tenant and vendor COI tracking program.
  • Administrative Support: Maintaining electronic files and excel spreadsheets for Risk Management Department. Assisting other team members when needed, e.g., large litigation matters, large property losses like hurricanes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience handling a large volume of insurance claims required.
  • Litigation experience required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, and AI applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, anticipate needs, propose solutions, and exercise good judgment.
  • Solid time management skills with the ability to prioritize, organize, and successfully balance multiple tasks and requests.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to respond to a wide variety of requests for information, policies, and procedures; prioritizes, analyzes, and determines appropriate response and follow through.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and work well with Brixmor’s staff at all levels and other daily contacts.

The base salary range for this position has been established as $70,000 - $75,000 PLUS participation in our annual cash bonus plan. This salary range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
