Job description
We are working with a fast-growing renewable energy developer in Atlanta who are looking for an In-House Counsel to join their legal team, focusing on project finance and energy transactions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a transactional lawyer who enjoys working at the heart of complex energy deals, partnering closely with senior leadership, and building real expertise within a high-growth business at the centre of the energy transition.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary internal legal advisor on project finance and energy transactions across a growing portfolio of renewable energy projects
- Leading legal support across a range of financing structures including debt facilities, equity arrangements, and construction finance
- Drafting and negotiating financing agreements, credit arrangements, and related transaction documentation
- Managing ongoing compliance obligations across active financing facilities — including notices, consents, and covenant management
- Conducting legal due diligence and advising on risk across the project portfolio
- Collaborating with external counsel from deal inception through to closing
- Partnering cross-functionally with finance, development, and operations teams across the business
- Providing occasional dispute and litigation support as required
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Transactional legal experience, ideally within project finance, structured finance, or corporate finance
- Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, power, or a related industry is preferred but not essential
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- The confidence to advise and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with sound business judgment
- In-house or law firm background will be considered
