Job description


The Building People, LLC, has a position open for an HVAC Engineer 2. The HVAC Engineer 2 is responsible for assisting the Engineer Tech 1 for the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems for the assigned property(s). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) maintaining a clean and safe working environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, and performing day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance for assigned properties.

  • Assisting Engineer 1 and other staff as needed .
  • Ability of use of hand tools, portable metalworking tools, electrical, welding equipment, mechanical components and or equipment.
  • Maintain operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment and system, to include but not limited to, clean and safe work environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, performance of day-to- day preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Inspection of engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling towers, motors, house pumps, electrical rooms, back-up generators, fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps.
  • Level 1&2 EPA certification .
  • Commercial HV AC/R Journeyman level training/certification at a college/trade school.
  • Able to perform duties of the General Maintenance 1.

Required Experience & Education:

  • Two Years experience (Education/trade schools can substitute for one year experience)
  • Possess and maintains a valid driver’s license and good driving record with periodic checks (where applicable)
  • Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word
