Job description

HVAC Service Apprentice

Position Summary

The HVAC Service Apprentice supports the Service Department by assisting experienced Service Technicians with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems. This role is designed as a developmental position focused on building technical skills, safety awareness, and field experience needed to advance into a Commercial HVAC Service Technician position.

Apprentices work closely with technicians, supervisors, and service coordinators to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards. This is a safety-sensitive role.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist Service Technicians with preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of rooftop units, air handlers, boilers, chillers, and related systems
  • Assist with system inspections, diagnostics, and routine service tasks
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Load, unload, and organize tools and materials for service calls
  • Communicate job progress and observations to supervising technicians
  • Safely operate hand and power tools
  • Participate in hands-on technical training and skill development
  • Assist with inventory, vehicle organization, and equipment maintenance
  • Work toward industry certifications and technical competency
  • Represent the company professionally on job sites

Work Schedule
