How to get into HVAC as a beginner?

To start as an entry-level HVAC agent, obtain a high school diploma or equivalent, then complete a technical training program or apprenticeship to learn system installation and repair. Certification such as EPA 608 is often required, and gaining hands-on experience helps build skills for troubleshooting and maintenance in the field.

Will HVAC techs be replaced by AI?

HVAC technicians perform hands-on tasks such as installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, which require manual skills and problem-solving that AI cannot fully replicate. While AI and automation can assist with diagnostics and system monitoring, the role of HVAC techs remains essential for complex repairs and customer service, especially as certifications and technical knowledge are critical in the field.

Is HVAC a lot of math?

Entry level HVAC technicians need basic math skills to measure, calculate airflow, and interpret technical specifications. Advanced math is generally not required, but understanding formulas related to temperature, pressure, and electrical systems can be helpful. Certification programs often include math components to ensure competency in these areas.

Can I make 200K doing HVAC?

High earnings are usually achieved through extensive experience, specialized skills, certifications, or owning a business, rather than at the entry level. Most HVAC technicians earn between $40,000 and $70,000 per year, with top earners reaching higher with overtime or management roles.
