About your next Challenge as a Air Weapons Systems Instructor:
As a weapons expert on the CF-18, you will act as an aircraft maintenance instructor. As part of this mandate, you will teach specialized entry-level maintenance courses to students and participate in the practical and theoretical training of all maintenance tasks.
What will you do:
- Teach operating principles in class and participate in hands-on training.
- Attend training and information sessions, as required.
- Comply with all regulations applicable to tooling control.
- Consult reference documentation, such as the training program, ITFCs, work processes and any other related documents, and provide assistance in updating relevant training material.
- Complete inspection sheets, forms, sets, logs and other aircraft documentation appropriately and as required.
- Adhere to safe work practices.
- Perform tasks assigned by Lead Instructor, Team Leader and Supervisor.
Comply with relevant administrative and technical regulations of the establishment with regard to the following:
- Health and safety.
- Flight safety.
- Documentation and record-keeping.
- Work instructions.
- Process specifications.
Provide training and mentoring in the following maintenance areas for the CF-18:

- Aircraft Maintenance Support Equipment (AMSE).
- Suspension and release equipment.
- Weapon systems and guns.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- College or high school diploma or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and Windows environment.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Five (5) years' experience in CF-18 maintenance.
- Adaptability, interpersonal skills, excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in quality control or relevant experience in this field (an asset).
- Bilingualism required (French and English) - good verbal and written communication skills in both languages. The knowledge of the English language, other than the French language is necessary due to contractual requirements.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2 / NATO Secret security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
