Job Description
The Oklahoma Used Motor Vehicle Dismantler, and Manufactured Housing Commission, the state licensing agency for used motor vehicle dealers, automotive dismantlers and the manufactured home industry in the state of Oklahoma, seeks a full time inspector. Automotive sales experience may be helpful, but is not required.
Job Duties
Subsequent to a training period, specific duties will include inspecting dealer locations for compliance with regulations, auditing dealer records, handling complaints against licensees, and investigating and preparing cases involving violations of laws and regulations for administrative hearings or court action. Other duties are included on an as needed basis and may include presenting educational material for dealer education classes and auditing dealer files for compliance with requirements.
Ideal Candidate
A successful candidate will have good oral and written communication skills and have a basic knowledge of and use of computers. A college degree is not required but educational attainment or appropriate experience may be given preference. This job requires some in state and overnight travel with reimbursement for mileage and expenses at State rates. Candidates must have a valid Oklahoma driver's license and provide a good driving record. The office location is in Oklahoma City. This is not a law enforcement position and CLEET certification is not necessary.
Salary and Benefits
Our compensation package includes a competitive salary corresponding with your education and experience. Entry-level salaries range from $40,500 annually depending on experience and education. Full-time employees are eligible for our benefits package which includes enrollment in the state's Defined Contribution Plan, and a 457 Plan. In addition, we offer generous benefit allowances, longevity and per diem for overnight travel.
