DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will develop and maintain effective technology and lead projects to optimize process and product capabilities, improve quality, productivity and cost (yield) within the highly automated Hot Dip Galvanizing lines to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert .

 

The Basics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant field
  • Background in major steel mill processes and products with in-depth knowledge of HDGL processes and technology
  • Knowledge of (metal coated) steel strip properties and applications
  • Understanding off heat and mass transfer, combustion, chemical reactions, and equilibrium (chemistry and chemical engineering fundamentals), metallurgy of steels, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of control systems, instrumentation, process models.

  • Advanced Technical knowledge of Hot Dip Galvanizing process and flat carbon products.
  • Strong Teamwork and a hands-on working approach
  • Advanced skills in data analysis, Statistics (design of experiments, data analysis and model formulation).

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Developing and maintaining an effective technical team responsible for Hot Dip Galvanizing (HDG) technology and development
  • Leads major improvement projects; improving process and product capabilities, throughput, cost (yield), energy and environmental performance
  • Providing technical support for all HDG units, reporting HDG process performance to Senior management, and managing/improving statistical systems that define product/process capabilities
  • Demonstrate the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability
  • Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
