Boarding Lead — Now Hiring

Are you an organized, detail-oriented leader who loves working with dogs and cats? Do you pride yourself on giving pets a safe, comfortable, and loving environment while their owners are away? If you’re ready to take the next step in your pet care career and want a role where you can truly lead a department, we have the ulti-mutt opportunity for you.

Bay Paws Pet Resort is looking for a Boarding Lead to become the ultimate "go-to" person for our overnight and day-boarding operations. This is a vital middle-management role meant for a dedicated professional who thrives on mentoring a team, ensuring flawless guest care, and keeping our resort the funnest place to work.

Why Bay Paws is a Great Place to Work

At Bay Paws, we genuinely put the "PET in hosPETality." We operate under a supportive "inverted pyramid" leadership structure. This means management’s primary job is to support you, providing the resources and industry education you need so you can empower your team of Pet Care Attendants. We value integrity, safety, open communication, and creative problem-solving—while making sure our workplace is positive and supportive.

Key Responsibilities

As our Boarding Lead, you are the supervisor of our overnight guests' stay, balancing hands-on animal care with administrative and team leadership:

  • Support and Coach the Team: Guide and train Pet Care Attendants, giving honest feedback and helping them reach their own professional goals.
  • Ensure Precision Care: Coordinate daily feeding schedules, medication administration, and thorough "snout-to-tail" health assessments precisely as directed.
  • Coordinate Resort Services: Oversee the accurate execution of all add-on services, including one-on-one playtimes, daycare participation, walks, and grooming needs.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with our Daycare, Front Desk, and Enrichment Leads to keep the resort running seamlessly as one unified team.
  • Enforce Cleanliness: Keep our facility pristine by holding the team accountable to our high sanitization, hygiene, and safety standards.
The Perks (Because You’re Worth It)

We believe in taking care of the people who take care of our pet guests. Here is a look at what we offer:

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and holiday pay/incentives
  • Free pet boarding so your own dog can enjoy a vacation while you work
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental wellness support
  • Generous employee discounts on retail and services
  • Flexible scheduling and on-the-job training
  • Real opportunities for advancement within the company
  • Employee of the Month program featuring cash prizes
  • Free snacks in the breakroom to keep your human battery charged
  • Referral program cash bonuses for bringing talent to our team
Who We Are Looking For
  • You have solid, proven experience working in a pet boarding, doggy daycare, or veterinary environment.
  • You possess strong foundational knowledge of pet health, medication administration, and safety protocols.
  • You have previous supervisory or team lead experience (or are a senior attendant ready to step up).
  • You are highly organized, have exceptional time-management skills, and can maintain a calm presence in a fast-paced environment.
  • You enjoy thinking outside the box to solve daily operational and pet care challenges.

If you are ready to move out of a standard entry-level role and truly lead a department, we would love to meet you.
