Job description

Are you passionate about shaping future health care leaders and helping students discover their purpose? The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at GCU is seeking knowledgeable, mission-driven Adjunct Faculty to teach Research and Evidence-Based Practice.
In this writing-intensive course, learners are introduced to the research process and methodologies using qualitative and quantitative data. Learners examine the processes required to integrate evidence into nursing practice. Emphasis is on evaluation and application of scientific evidence affecting nurse-sensitive quality indicators. Learners differentiate types and levels of evidence and identify appropriate sources that inform nursing practice. Strategies for implementation, methods of evaluation, and dissemination of research findings are discussed. This course also expands on informatics technology used to support data, information, and knowledge needs in the delivery of nursing and health care.
What You Will Do
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction using innovative teaching methods and current industry technologies
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation standards
  • Model the holistic tenets of the nursing profession and uphold the University's mission and pillars
  • Facilitate meaningful classroom discussions, assess student learning, and prepare students for leadership roles in health care
  • Support program initiatives and demonstrate alignment with the philosophy and direction of the University
  • Provide a positive example by supporting GCU's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission

What You Will Bring
  • Required: Masters (or higher) in Nursing AND an active, current, unencumbered, and unrestricted AZ or multi-state RN license AND 2 years direct patient care nursing experience. Relevant experience in nursing research preferred.
    • Preferred: Teaching experience face-to-face and/or online in a prelicensure nursing program.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with students
  • Proficiency in English, grammar, and APA writing
  • Commitment to modeling GCU's mission and values
