Job description
Organization:
Biomedical Informatics
Job Summary:
In your pivotal role as Research Analyst, you will assist with project coordination and other research-related tasks for various projects related to our funded grant on Value Sets. Your work may include scheduling meetings or interviews with research subjects; performing literature reviews, chart reviews, and some basic data analysis; summarizing and presenting findings both in writing and orally; helping with grant and other reporting requirements; editing and sometimes drafting manuscripts for publication; drafting IRB materials; helping coordinate new grant submissions; and helping with other VCLIC (Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Center) activities as needed (this may include event prep and execution, newsletter curation, schedule and CV management for the PI, Adam Wright, and other tasks as needed. You will work closely with Dr. Wright's Senior Research Project Manager, Elise Russo, who will delegate work based on what task is most pressing at the time, so day to day work may vary.
You are the ideal candidate if you are someone who is curious, enjoy learning, and are willing to be flexible. Sometimes in research we need to pivot our methods to complete a project, and this job requires ability to adapt frequently. We will provide as much field-based training as we can, including introducing you to clinicians, IT specialists, and scientists depending on what their career goals are. There are ample opportunities for shadowing and informational interviews with VUMC faculty, staff, and students. Our team also sits at the forefront of AI in healthcare and can offer an introduction to the world of applying AI to the data we have here. Depending on interest, we can support you through managing their own small project through to a conference presentation or manuscript.
REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and an interest in healthcare and the use of technology to support clinical care.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
You will work Monday-Friday, standard daytime business hours and will work on site at 2525 West End Ave. in Nashville, TN. There may be potential for 1 hybrid day per week.
