Job Summary and Qualifications

There’s never been a greater need for passionate, caring people to enter the Mental Health Profession. The Mental Health Technician delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of basic services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Behavioral Health Tech will have an important role in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care that complies with hospital policies and the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • You will provide care to and close supervision of our psychiatric patients
  • You will obtain and record initial and ongoing patient vital signs throughout the cycle of care
  • You will document and report any physical or behavioral changes at time of occurrence
  • You will actively participate as part of the treatment team, following facility policies and procedures

What Qualifications You Will Need: 

  • High School Graduate or GED required 
  • Demonstrated competency in BLS required upon hire and maintained
  • C.N.A preferred
  • Prefer one year of inpatient psychiatric experience
  • Medical Terminology and clerical background preferred
