Job description

A Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in managing patients with breathing difficulties within a home healthcare setting. This position requires independent work and focuses on comprehensive respiratory care, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, equipment maintenance, and patient education. The therapist conducts monthly home visits, providing personalized care and opportunities for specialization in home care respiratory services.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient respiratory status and needs
  • Manage standard and advanced invasive ventilators
  • Administer oxygen therapy using portable units and various delivery systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot nebulizers, CPAP, and BiPAP devices
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, including CPAP/BiPAP training and mask refitting
  • Document medical records accurately and promptly
  • Conduct monthly home visits for ongoing patient care and follow-up

Preferred Qualifications
