Job Description

The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America's Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.
  • Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:
    • Aliquot samples
    • Spike and trace samples
    • Prepare reagents
    • Bottle samples
    • Prepare concentrations
    • Separation
    • Sonication
    • Liquid rack set up
  • Learning and using the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
  • Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
  • Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day's samples.
  • Stocking laboratory supplies.
  • Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assisting other laboratory areas as needed.
Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • High school Chemistry coursework preferred
  • Basic laboratory experience preferred
  • Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.  Samples will be in coolers packed in ice.

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):

  • General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production setting
  • Good organizational, communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Quick learner
  • Work independently and within time constraints
Additional Information

Requirements:

  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Position is full-time Monday - Friday 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of North Kingstown, RI are encouraged to apply.

Pay range: $18-20/hr. Plus 5% shift differential when working 2nd shift.
