Saw Shop Head Filer Job Summary

In operation since 1982, Superior Hardwoods is one of the largest sawmills in Indiana. This facility utilizes some of the latest innovations in sawshop equipment: including a Simonds auto-bench and an Armstrong auto-swage. This is a great opportunity for an individual to join our team as a first or second shift saw filer. This opening is full-time and a permanent opportunity working for us. We believe in continuous improvement for our facilities and our employees.

Saw Shop Filer Pay & Benefits:

  • Full Time Hours
  • Competitive Pay

Saw Shop Filer Responsibilities:

  • Sharpening, repairing, benching and leveling band saws
  • Maintaining saw shop equipment and facilities
  • Ability to trouble shoot and align shop equipment
  • Adherence to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Lead and direct saw filer shop team
  • Capable of working efficiently/safe as well as keeping a high level of precision

Saw Shop Filer Qualifications:

  • 3 years acting in the role as head saw filer preferred
  • Band mill alignment and maintenance experience helpful, but not required
  • Must be self-motivated and organized
