Job description

Job Purpose:
The Communications Specialist will develop and manage both external and internal communications for ICA Language Services. This role is critical in ensuring consistent and effective communication strategies that support our organizational goals and the ICA Brand. The position focuses on creating engaging external communications for clients and students, while also enhancing internal communications for employees. This position is responsible for the dissemination of informational elements as well as maintaining and updating mailing lists and other contact information.

Primary Duties:
External Communications

Disseminate timely and accurate school announcements and other communications to ICA's customers and students.

Develop and manage content for all ICA social media platforms to engage and inform clients, students, and prospective employees. This task requires the Communications Specialist to work within all departments to generate content ideas that are relevant and engaging to ICA customers.

Ensure the ICA website is updated regularly with accurate, relevant and engaging information.

Create and distribute communications for ICA Learn, including announcements, updates, and relevant resources for students.

Propose design solutions for the visual appeal of the LMS interface. Suggest layout changes to enhance user-friendly navigation and accessibility.

Support business development and marketing efforts by designing proposal layouts, creating conference handouts, and producing other marketing materials.

Disseminate informational materials to clients and students while maintaining and updating mailing lists and other contact information to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Gather and analyze feedback to propose adjustments in communication strategies if needed

Internal Communications

Create and distribute company-wide announcements to keep employees informed and engaged.

Develop and publish internal news feeds to communicate key updates and initiatives. This task requires the Communications Specialist to work within all departments to generate content ideas that are relevant and engaging to ICA employees.

Create and distribute communications for ICA Learn, including announcements, updates, and relevant resources for instructors.

Support the instructor training program by developing brand-appropriate training packages.

Collaborate with HR to distribute critical communications, such as benefits updates and policy changes.

Support HR in implementing initiatives to enhance employee engagement and communication.

Disseminate, or assist in disseminating, informational materials to employees utilizing current HR information

Gather and analyze feedback to propose adjustments in communication strategies if needed

All other duties as assigned


Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Experience with social media management, content creation, and website maintenance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software is a plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

Familiarity with learning management systems is an advantage but not required.

Ability to work effectively with and through others including those over whom there is no formal authority

Ability to make good decisions based on sound understanding and evaluation of relevant information, gather information and involve others as appropriate

Ability to think strategically and solve problems

Positive, enthusiastic, energetic, with a good sense of humor

Self-starter with a curious mindset and desire to learn new skills
