Job description

Old Harbor Solutions is an emerging specialty consulting firm focused on providing innovative strategic planning, project development, and management solutions. We are a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and owned by the Village of Old Harbor, Kodiak Island, Alaska. We are currently seeking an Entry Level Ballistics Evidence Technician to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. Qualified candidates will be expected to: * Conduct entries and perform image and correlation reviews on NIBIN equipment after receiving training from the ATF or another authorized trainer * Enter traces into e-Trace * Enter data into charts, spreadsheets, reports, and/or systems * Triage cartridge casings for entry into Integrated Ballistic Information Systems (IBIS) * Enter evidence into IBIS. * Perform image and correlation reviews * Produce basic analytical products * Summarize information in writing * Establish rapport with others to accomplish objectives * Utilize NESS for daily entry of local RMS event info associated with ballistic evidence entered into NIBIN and results, and reporting success stories. * Handle, operate, and test fire a variety of firearms and ammunition following all safety procedures are completed, and approved by the government official. Position Requirements: * US Citizen with a valid US Driver's License * BS Degree from accredited college or university preferred. Combination of formal education, work experience and on the job training will be considered * General experience with local, State, or Federal law enforcement is preferred but not required * Must be able to successfully complete the ATF clearance process * Must be willing to provide a DNA sample as part of employment screening * Ability to work with and coordinate the efforts of local, State and Federal law enforcement * Ability to analyze, summarize, report and share information * Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications and software * Must successfully pass the competency testing for acquisitions and correlations review after being trained to perform image and correlation reviews on NIBIN equipment * Occasional travel may be required.
