Job description

Global Land Partners, LLC is seeking a full-time, in-house Right-of-Way Permitting Technician to support right-of-way acquisitions for pipeline and electric transmission line projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-Jurisdictional Permitting & Applications
  • Prepare and process road crossing and railroad crossing permit applications, coordinating with county, state, municipal, and rail agencies throughout the permitting lifecycle.
  • Prepare and submit applications for rights-of-way, easements, leases, and land use permits on BLM, BIA, and State Agency lands across multiple states.
  • Prepare applications and supporting documentation for public agency and third-party encroachments, including crossings of existing utility corridors and municipal rights-of-way.

Land & Data Management
  • Track permit status, maintain logs of expirations and renewals, and communicate stipulations and conditions of approval to field and project teams.
  • Examine right-of-way files to determine contract rights and ensure compliance with issued permits; review title information and verify legal descriptions.
  • Research landowner and parcel information utilizing county records and agency databases.
  • Prepare pipeline line lists and manage documentation and payment processing related to land and permit acquisitions.
  • Enter permits, easements, and legal documents into land management databases; organize and maintain all land and permit files with accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:
Required
  • Prior experience in Oil & Gas, pipeline, or electric utility in a role such as Right-of-Way Technician, Land Technician, Permitting Specialist, Paralegal, or Lease Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of right-of-way documents, easements, deeds, and acquisition processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage multiple permits and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Earth, and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred
  • Familiarity with federal land permitting (BLM, BIA) and state agency authorization procedures, as well as railroad and highway permitting requirements.
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar project tracking platforms.

About the Role:
This position plays a critical role in keeping projects on schedule by managing permit applications and land use authorizations across public and private lands. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, demonstrates a strong work ethic, and takes initiative. This role requires the ability to navigate federal, state, and local agency requirements. Some Land Technician duties apply given the overlap with land administration. Additional training in land management software will be provided.
