Job description
The Department of German, Slavic, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of German. This is a tenure-track position to commence with the Fall Semester 2027. The teaching load for this position will be 2/2, and will include language classes, as well as courses on literary and cultural topics taught in German and in English. The Department of German, Slavic, and Eurasian Studies strives to offer its students an experience similar to that found at selective liberal arts colleges. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in the communal life of the department and to contribute widely to the liberal arts curriculum at Notre Dame. Interdisciplinary interests in both research and pedagogy are welcome.
Qualifications
Candidates at the entry level must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. degree or have completed all but dissertation in German or a closely related field by August 1, 2027. Candidates at the advanced assistant level must have a Ph.D. in German or a closely related field.
