Job description


Entry level position that partners with Senior Promotions & Events Specialist & Director of Marketing to support & execute marketing strategies for Harrah's/Horseshoe Council Bluffs.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and executes Promotions & Events to support Marketing strategies which could include: execute all event activities including decorations, schedule food & beverage elements, communicate expectations of affected departments, testing programs, requesting collateral and work closely with internal departments to perform duties as well as outside vendors, etc.
  • Responsible for responding to promotions and events questions at any time as well as main point of contact for events they are overseeing.
  • Responsible for completing APS (Advantage Promotions System) audit checks as well as checking 10 guest accounts to ensure program is set up and working accurately, on a daily basis including days off.
  • Assists in executing budgets for individual promotions and special event productions, recording expenditures, and maintaining participants list for PET Finance System.
  • Responsible for testing, reporting, and uploading into APS for all promotions, events, drawings, slot tournament, etc. Creates generic programs when needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring the execution of all promotions and tournaments are being executed in compliance with the official rules.
  • Partners with Marketing Supervisor on requesting all Comp Codes, OCRM uploads, etc, on an as-needed basis.
  • Assists in ensuring collateral for promotions and events are up to date and accurate throughout the property including brochures, pamphlets, digital, etc., to ensure we meet property, company as well as regulatory guidelines.
  • Responsible for supporting social media sites to ensure messaging is sent out on a timely basis. Also partners with Advertising and/or Marketing Supervisor to ensure property websites are accurate at all times.
  • Assists with training for Special Events Attendants.
  • Maintains compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Develops good working relationships and maintains effective communication with other departments to secure and maintain their cooperation for assistance with promotions and events.
  • Works closely with the Caesars Rewards team to ensure comprehension of all promotions and all necessary tools are provided to successfully execute marketing programs.
  • Presents oneself as a credit to the Company and encourages others to do the same.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Good oral and written communication skills including tact when dealing with difficult customers & must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, Access and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors.
  • Must be able to attend all promotions and special events unless previously approved by leadership.
  • Ability to stand and walk, and mobility to move easily around entire property for entire shift.
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree in Marketing or related field preferred.
  • Marketing or hospitality/gaming industry experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to work in areas containing dust, second hand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration, crowds and air quality.
  • Must be flexible with schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Will be subject to call 24 hours in case of emergency or facility need.
