REAL ESTATE FINANCE SALES ASSOCIATE -- ENTRY LEVEL

Hondo Finance

Norwalk, CT • On-site

Job description

ABOUT HONDO FINANCE

Hondo Finance is a direct lender to seasoned real estate investors and developers. Founded by former Wall Street executives, we provide fast, flexible, transparent capital — typically closing in five to seven business days — for fix-and-flip, residential transition (RTL), and ground-up construction projects.

We pair institutional experience with entrepreneurial execution, and we lend nationwide. Learn more at hondofinance.com.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a hungry, aggressive salesperson who wants to build a career in real estate and real estate finance. Prior lending or mortgage experience is not required.

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to learn the business, develop real sales skills, and build a career from the ground up. You will be trained on our products, our market, and our sales process — but you will be expected to bring the energy, work ethic, competitiveness, and determination to succeed.

This is a true hunter role and the front line of our growth: outbound calls, prospecting, building relationships, and turning cold contacts into borrowers and referral partners. Nobody hands you a book of business. You build it.

You will work alongside experienced salespeople, executives, underwriting, and operations professionals in our office. We believe great sales teams are built through collaboration, competition, coaching, and culture — and we want people who want to be part of building that team.

If you are early in your career and want to break into real estate finance, this is an opportunity to learn the business from people who have done it at scale and earn your way into a significant sales career.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

·      Make high-volume outbound calls every day to real estate investors, brokers, and referral partners

·      Build your own pipeline from zero — nobody hands you leads

·      Learn how real estate investors finance their projects and how our lending products solve their needs

·      Learn and sell our products, including fix-and-flip, RTL, bridge, and construction financing

·      Qualify prospects, identify opportunities, and develop borrower relationships

·      Gather documentation and work with our team to help structure and close deals

·      Work alongside underwriting and operations to move loans to the closing table

·      Track every touch in the CRM and hit clear targets for calls, conversations, opportunities, and funded loans

·      Learn the fundamentals of private real estate lending and develop into a successful Loan Originator

·      Compete, learn, and contribute to a growing sales team and office culture

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We can teach real estate finance. We can teach lending. We can teach our products and process. What we can't teach is hunger.

The most important thing to us is finding people who genuinely want to sell, compete, improve, and win.

Hungry. You want more. You are competitive, ambitious, and motivated to build something for yourself. You don't need to be pushed to make the next call.

Aggressive. You are not afraid to pick up the phone, ask for the business, follow up, and hear "no." You understand that sales is a numbers game and you intend to win it.

Coachable. You take feedback without defending it, apply it quickly, and actively want to get better. We will invest heavily in teaching you the business.

Hard working. You understand that building a career and a book of business takes work. You show up, put in the reps, and keep going when things don't immediately go your way.

Beyond that:

·      Early in your career and looking for an opportunity to break into real estate, finance, or sales

·      Prior sales experience is a plus, but not required — retail, recruiting, insurance, automotive, fitness, hospitality, or other high-energy sales environments can all translate

·      Comfortable on the phone, or genuinely willing to get comfortable fast

·      Competitive and goal-driven — you want the number in front of you

·      A strong communicator who can build rapport quickly

·      Organized, persistent, and accountable

·      Curious about real estate and interested in learning how private lending actually works

·      Willing and excited to work in the office and be part of building a high-performance team and culture

WHAT WE OFFER

·      Base salary during training, plus uncapped commission

·      Structured training and direct mentorship from experienced sales and Wall Street professionals

·      Daily coaching and the opportunity to learn alongside experienced originators

·      A product that closes in days rather than months — your borrowers notice

·      A real opportunity to build your own book of business from the ground up

·      A clear path from entry-level originator to successful senior originator for people who earn it

·      An entrepreneurial, competitive, team-oriented office environment

·      The opportunity to build a long-term career in real estate finance
