Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Gathers all dirty dishware from tubs brought to the dish room, rinses, and stacks in dishracks
  • Cleans floors, walls, wash tubs, counters, and shelves; cleans mop sink area
  • Properly disposes of grease and garbage left in pots and pans
  • Defrosts and clean refrigerators and iceboxes as necessary
  • Dumps and cleans the garbage cans and rolling bins
  • Stocks serving stations with dishes and utensils
  • Keeps all work areas free of trash, clean and organized
  • Loads full dishracks on belt and ensures correct placement in accordance with the instructions for the operation of the machine
  • Loads dishwashing solutions into automatic dispensers and regulates the output of detergents and chemicals to the dishwashing machine by monitoring and adjusting controls
  • Unloads clean dishes from racks after being processed through dish machine, inspects for cleanliness, and carefully stacks in specified carts and shelves for the easy use by restaurant and kitchen staff
  • Maintains the automatic dishwashing equipment in good condition and working order in accordance with manufacturers' instructions in order to prolong the life of the equipment, prevent breakdowns and to meet mandated health compliance regulations
  • Responsible for cleaning all back of the house areas, including kitchen, restaurant, food storage and trash handling areas
  • Performs general weekly or monthly maintenance as deemed necessary by kitchen management
  • Assists with back of the house supply and clean up as needed

Skills, Education and Other Requirements:

  • Basic Reading and Writing skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience
  • Six months experience as a dishwasher
