Job description

Job Title: Founding Full-Stack Engineer
Job Duration: Full-time
Job Location: New York City, NY & San Francsico, CA
Work Arrangement: Onsite

About the Role
  • We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to build and scale our company with us. You'll be responsible for helping build a product from 0 to 1. As a founding engineer, you’ll be doing it all — integrating orchestrating tool-calling agents, scaling data infrastructure across GCP and building a full-stack web application from scratch. The ideal candidate has strong full-stack experience and is deeply interested in building a company with high-caliber teammates from the ground up. This role is not easy but is deeply rewarding. It is ideal for ambitious engineers who want to start their own companies someday or want to take on leadership roles.

What You'll Do
  • Work closely with product and frontend teams to align on integration logic and data modeling.
  • Build and deploy LLM-based agents using GCP infrastructure
  • Design and evolve scalable relational data models for complex medical and operational data.
  • Work across a dual backend stack:
  1. NestJS (TypeORM, Swagger, Supabase, Vercel AI SDK)
  2. FastAPI (Pydantic, uvicorn, OpenRouter integration)
  • Develop and maintain tool-calling orchestration libraries and context assembly pipelines
  • Design and orchestrate data pipelines using GCP services to transform, move, and expose data efficiently.
  • Implement and evolve Model Context Protocol (MCP) compliant clients and servers
  • Optimize memory, latency, and cost of streaming prompt pipelines
  • Connect core data infrastructure to APIs that serve both frontend and AI consumption needs.
  • Build and maintain clean, modular, and reusable components.
  • Own the full lifecycle of features: from Figma translation to production deployment.
  • Implement responsive design patterns with strong breakpoint awareness (mobile/desktop).
  • Work in a Cursor-based dev environment and promote best practices for collaboration.
  • Integrate and maintain 3rd-party APIs and SDKs into our backend services.
  • Build internal API wrappers and tools to standardize and scale integrations.
  • Develop secure, efficient, type-safe RESTful APIs that expose integrated data to our frontend and AI layers.

Tech Stack:
  • GCP: Vertex AI, LLM
  • Infra: OpenRouter, AI Vercel SDK, tool-calling libraries (LangChain, custom), MCP clients/servers
  • Backend: Python, TypeScript
  • Frontend: React, Next.js (App Router), Tailwind CSS, TanStack Query (React Query), Vercel SDK
