This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be at the forefront of software development, building robust, scalable applications that directly support our mission. You will apply your expertise across the full stack - from front-end user interfaces to back-end services and the infrastructure that runs them - with a unique emphasis on leveraging artificial intelligence as a core part of the development lifecycle. This is a unique opportunity to blend your passion for technology with a mission that is truly out of this world.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable full-stack web applications usingTypeScript,React, andPython.
  • Develop, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure onAWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with tools likeTerraform orPulumi.
  • Experience with developing and implementing K8s containers including best practices
  • Experience with machine learning models, deep learning, and large language models
  • Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment, ensuring high-quality, reliable software delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features and technical solutions.
  • Champion the adoption and integration of AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude Code, VSCode extensions, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development and improve code quality.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, design discussions, and embrace modern development practices usingGit and agile methodologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve end-to-end issues within existing software systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to an environment of continuous learning and improvement, actively exploring new technologies and methodologies relevant to our mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in building modern web applications withTypeScript andReact.
  • Strong back-end development experience usingTypescript andPython.
  • Hands-on experience withAWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC) and Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) usingTerraform orPulumi.
  • Expertise with standard development tools, including modernIDEs (VSCode),Git, andCI/CD pipelines.
  • Verifiable experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, VSCode extensions, Cursor) in your daily workflow to enhance productivity.
  • Applied experience (professional or personal) showcasing strong full-stack development skills.
  • A genuine and demonstrable passion for technology, with a constant drive to learn and adapt.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A keen interest in the machine learning space, with a desire to contribute to the training and fine-tuning of AI models.
  • Prior experience training or fine-tuning ML models or Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, mission-driven engineering environment.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $164,652.00 - $230,512.80
