Job Description Summary

Senior Staff Software Engineer will work with a Scrum Team and a Software Product Owners to help develop world class digital engineering tools and design the digital thread of connected tools and processes for development of wind turbines. Currently, this suite of tools includes building cloud based web tools for automating and connecting engineering tools for speed in customer proposals and consolidating digital tools for wind turbine/farm simulations, loads evaluation and simulation configuration management.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Advance state-of-the-art computer modeling and process improvements of Wind Turbines engineering digital tools
  • Work with Product/Software Owners and functional stakeholders in engineering and commercial teams to refine our vision and execution for the engineering suite of tools
  • Look for ways to develop and integrate new digital technologies to add value to internal applications as well as improve overall efficiencies.
  • Working with a global team you will be responsible for full software lifecycle including coding, documentation, training, and quality testing.
  • Coach & Mentor team members in your area of expertise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university
  • Strong programming experience or equivalent
  • Proven experience in Cloud Computing/AWS.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Other Software Management techniques.

Desired Qualifications/Characteristics:

  • Strong full-stack experience with React and modern JavaScript
  • Comfortable working in a Vite-based frontend and maintaining data-heavy UI flows
  • Solid Python experience for backend services and AWS Lambda development
  • Good SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including reading existing schemas and tracing data through views and functions
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB
  • Able to debug end-to-end flows across frontend, API adapters, backend services, database, and cache layers
  • Familiar with artifact/cache-based web architectures, not just direct API-to-DB apps
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests, especially Jest and pytest
  • Comfortable working in an existing enterprise codebase with established patterns rather than rewriting from scratch
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for production-like environments, deployments, and data consistency issues
  • Experience with workflow-style or server-driven UIs
  • Experience with PowerShell and Windows-based development environments
  • Familiarity with QA/prod deployment practices and safe handling of environment-specific data
  • Experience supporting engineering tools used by analysts or operations teams, not just consumer-facing apps

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
