Job Description
Full-time - NO C2C - NO Sponsorship's
This position is responsible for designing, writing technical specifications, coding and supporting moderately complex software programming applications using Java, J2E, JavaScript, Hibernate, MySQL, JDK, UNIX, Cron, and Shell Scripting. Develops, modifies, and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. Participates in design, and coding activities with other staff members.
Essential Functions:
โ€ข Responsible for analysis, design, and development in enterprise Java.
โ€ข Read and write technical documents and specs.
โ€ข Should be very familiar with Unix/Linux environment.
โ€ข Should be very familiar with Java enterprise technology and app servers.
Education/Experience:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
โ€ข 1-3 years of experience in enterprise Java development
โ€ข Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members
โ€ข Ability to interface well with Professional Service staff and other non-technical members of the organization.
โ€ข Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
โ€ข Must have knowledge of scheduling tools (DBMS, CRON, ETC).
โ€ข Must be able to read and write shell scripts.
โ€ข Must have experience with source control systems.
โ€ข Solid analytical and development skills.
โ€ข Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
โ€ข Experience and ability to work in a constantly changing, fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Other:
โ€ข After hours work may be required for upgrades to production systems to avoid system downtime during business hours.
โ€ข Must be able to be available for after-hours support via cell phone 24x7 when on call
