Job Purpose

Provide administrative environmental support to the Environmental Specialist. Monitor environmental systems in place and identify corrective/preventative actions. Support in environmental systems/policy creation and critical asset management. This position will report to the Environmental Specialist. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Administrative support in air monitoring control systems and evaluation of their performance.
  2. Oversee response to all environmental alarms and record responses in designated environmental database for semi-annual NESHAP reports.
  3.  Work with engineering and maintenance on repairs to all systems related to air monitoring and control devices.
  4. Advises plant facility maintenance personnel regarding pollution control and treatment systems and assists in operations and maintenance as required.
  5. Support negative air testing of buildings per our permit requirements.
  6. Dust mitigation plan management and roll out including documentation of all activities.
  7. Assist in stack testing coordination and planning.
  8. Oversee activities and reporting associated with baghouse policy. Including maintaining documentation of daily baghouse inspections and associated corrective actions.
  9. Support facilities with quarterly baghouse inspections per our corporate policy. Including work orders are completed based on inspection results.
  10. Support the Environmental Specialist with the preparation of compliance reports.
  11. Monitor and complete wastewater compliance activities and reporting.  
  12. Act as an internal auditor in compliance with our ISO 14001 certification and environmental management system.
  13. Supports record keeping and monitoring of other environmental permits.
  14. Oversee SPCC plan and complete associated inspections and reporting.
  15. Acts a responder in spill response per our SPCC Plan.
  16. Assist in implementing and maintaining technical programs for skill-based employees (i.e. fall protection, Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Space, and Hot Work).

Supports the implementation and monitoring of all other EHS programs as required. 

Qualifications

Effective interpersonal communication skills a must.Mathematical Skills:  High level of accuracy in basic math and use of 10 key calculator.Reasoning Ability:  Ability to associate cause and affect relationships and determine patterns of activity in anticipation of change to the operation or personnel.Computer Skills:  Must have strong intermediate Microsoft Office skills.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Visual Emission Certification, Hazardous Waste Certification, HAZWOPPER, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor.
