Job description

DevOps Engineer

Our development team is looking for a new member to assist in automating, configuring and integrating PaaS platform. This team is on the forefront of leveraging bleeding edge software stacks to automate hybrid infrastructure solutions. When not creating code for labs / environments, this person will be highly collaborative with other Product or IaaS teams that use the lab, orchestrator and/or environments. These dependent teams will work with the Sr. DevOps Engineer to identify root cause of problems and help these teams solve development issues. DevOps Engineer will need to communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

The main responsibilities include:

As a Sr. DevOps, you would closely collaborate with developers on the team to build automation on top of product platforms. Senior developers on our team leverage their experience to collaboratively help design and engineer solutions and implement in an iterative way. We primarily write in Python/Java/Groovy and leverage modern frameworks and systems to implement our solutions. As a Sr. DevOps Engineer, you will perform moderate to complex scripting in support of the Lab environment and works towards the integration of the entire Product catalog. In addition to strong scripting in Python, Bash and PowerShell, you will work in an environment with many other tools and systems, including:

  • Python, Ruby or similar languages used for automation
  • Docker, Kubernetes, or other container and virtualization services
  • Git or other revision control utilities
  • Jenkins/Gitlab CI/CD/ or other automated build and deployment systems
  • Mongo DB, Elasticsearch or other NoSQL type databases
  • Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, and other message brokers
  • Ansible / Salt / Puppet / Chef
