Job Description

At Atlas, we're providing services that enable communities to flourish and thrive, and if you’re looking for a CEI Level 1 Inspector role ready to assist with documenting construction projects and inspection job activities and committed to doing meaningful work, then this is your moment. You’ll inspect and document construction work for compliance, complete daily contractor reports, assist with related office tasks, and report to the Senior Inspector and/or Project Manager.

Core Responsibilities

This is skilled sub-professional engineering work in the field or office.

  • Employees in said class shall follow standard procedures in documenting construction projects and inspecting job activities to verify they are in compliance with project plans and specifications.

  • The inspector shall be responsible for completing a daily report documenting labor and equipment used by contractor to include a description of work performed and any pertinent conversations with contractor.

  • The inspector will assist with office work such as plotting cross-sections and computing earthwork quantities.

  • The inspector shall report directly to Senior Inspector and/or Project Manager.

You’ll thrive here if you have

  • Some experience in construction inspection, surveying or highway materials testing and inspection.

  • One or more of the following certifications as necessary and approved by the Region Engineer. Inspectors who are to perform a specific task shall be certified in that field.

    • Asphalt Level I Laboratory Technician Certification

    • Certified Concrete Technician (ACI and ALDOT Certification)

    • Roadway HMA Pavement Technician Certification

    • Work Zone Safety Certification

    • Radiation Safety Technician Certification
