Job description

Many structural heart patients suffer from heart failure with limited options. Our Implantable Heart Failure Management (IHFM) business's AI, Product and Platforms organization is at the forefront of addressing these unmet patient needs through pioneering technology that enables early, targeted therapeutic intervention. Our innovative solutions are not just transforming patient care but also creating a unique and exciting environment for our team members. It is our driving force to help patients live longer and healthier lives. Join us and be part of our inspiring journey.
As an Application Developer, Business Systems, you independently design, build, and deliver moderately complex solutions across IHFM's web based business applications and Salesforce platform. You own features end to end, spanning front end, backend, APIs, and Salesforce, translating business requirements into working, scalable, well-tested applications, and you do it hands-on. Business Systems operates as a dedicated team parallel to the IHFM product development teams; its focus is the commercial and enterprise systems that run the business, not product or device software.
Based in Irvine, CA, you'll join a high-impact medtech innovation hub in the heart of Orange County, collaborating in person with cross-functional teams to shape patient-focused technology.
How you'll make an impact
  • Design and build moderately complex full-stack features: React or Angular front ends, backend services, and REST API integrations
  • Develop Salesforce solutions end to end: Apex, Lightning Web Components, flows, and integrations with external systems
  • Own components and features from requirements through deployment and post-launch support
  • Evaluate feasibility and design system specifications within architecture, quality, and security standards
  • Write technical documentation and clear, tested code; conduct and respond to code reviews
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root-cause analysis across the web and Salesforce stacks
  • Ensure work meets the SDLC, computer system validation (CSV), and 21 CFR Part 11 or GxP requirements appropriate to each system

What you'll need (Required):
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on software development, including full-stack web development
  • Proficiency with a modern front-end framework (React or Angular) and at least one backend language (e.g., Node.js, .NET/C#, Java, or Python)
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrations
  • Hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, Lightning Web Components, or configuration)
  • Strong debugging skills and command of version control and Agile delivery

What else we look for (Preferred):
  • Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I, Administrator)
  • Experience with SQL, ETL, or data integration
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with computer system validation (CSV), 21 CFR Part 11, or GxP
  • MedTech, Life Sciences, or other regulated-industry experience

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.
For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $87,000 to $123,000 (highly experienced).
The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience). Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
