Job description

At Weyerhaeuser, we are the world's premier timber, land, and forest products company.  Sustainability is the founding concept of our business, and our values drive every decision to ensure we continue to lead the forestry industry in sustainability practices.  And we know about sustainability - we led it in the forestry industry when we planted our first seedling by hand in 1938.  Weyerhaeuser is a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and publicly traded. We recognize that our success is dependent on the success of our people.  For over 125 years, our Weyerhaeuser team has been making a difference in the world - from the seedlings we plant, to the forests and trees we nurture, we ensure every acre is managed with diligence, patience and pride.  That's the Weyerhaeuser way.

You are a forward-thinking developer that is passionate about application development, curious about business processes, and enjoys solving problems. In this role, you would develop, test, and support new features for web and mobile applications built on the OutSystems low-code development platform.

You would thrive on a small team of experts who are responsible for a variety of applications supporting a range of business functions at Weyerhaeuser spanning all three lines of business: Timberlands, Wood Products and Strategic Land Solutions. Our team plays a key role in providing solutions that address business problems that can't be solved with commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) software or applications within our current portfolio.

We are always looking for cutting-edge ideas on how to better provide our services. We push each other to think outside the box and bring new and innovative ideas to the organization. This involves both new development and continuous improvement of our applications, workflows, interfaces, and technology, all with the ultimate goals of business enablement, risk reduction, and operational efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop a sound understanding of the OutSystems low-code platform to help create software applications.
  • Participate in the detailed technical design and construction phases of the overall software development lifecycle.
  • Work with other engineers and developers to ensure the effective implementation of the technical designs.
  • Under general guidance, create and document structured code that is easily maintained by other programmers.
  • Test and debug programs and ensure that all the code follows IT technical standards.
  • Perform entry-level analysis, problem solving, implementation, and documentation.
  • Provide Tier 3 technical support to users.

The ideal candidate is motivated to learn, results oriented, and is committed to providing outstanding customer support every day.  This individual will enjoy solving new problems and be capable of working on independent tasks while part of a larger team.

The duration of this internship is approximately 6 months beginning in mid-September, 2026.

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program related to Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field of study
  • Minimum of a junior standing by September 2026, or have graduated within six months
  • Technical knowledge and skills from education or experience (coursework or hands-on)
  • Working knowledge of a modern programming language (Java, C#, C )
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with SQL Server scripting and stored procedures
  • Experience with Visual Studio and/or Git
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Low code development platforms (PowerApps, OutSystems)
    • API and Web Service development
    • Experience with XML and JSON
