Description
Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi (www.ascendprime.com) is seeking part-time Food Runners for our contemporary steak and sushi restaurant on the 31st floor of Lincoln Tower South in Bellevue, WA. In this upscale environment, specializing in Prime Steaks and Global Seafood, you will be surrounded by first-class team members and have opportunities for upward growth.
The Food Runner supports the flow of service at Ascend Prime by delivering dishes with efficiency, professionalism, and attention to detail. This role helps maintain organization between the kitchen and dining room, ensuring food is delivered accurately, promptly, and with polish. The Food Runner plays an important part in upholding Ascend Prime's high standards for timing, presentation, and guest experience.

Pay rate:

Requirements:
  • Prior serving experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with customers as well as all levels of employees in both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Ability to manipulate the POS system and accurately input orders and post transactions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to receive direction in a fast-paced environment; manage time effectively, and work well in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent customer relations & communication skills.
  • Must possess at all times during employment a valid Washington State Department of Health card and any other government-required cards.
  • Must possess an entry-level knowledge of the food and beverage offerings including ingredients, allergens, dietary limitations, and the restaurant concept overviews.

Responsibilities:
  • Represents the Company in a professional and exemplary manner and promotes the success of the restaurant to guests, staff, and any other parties; communicates compliments and complaints with the Captains and Servers.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment and upholds and enforces the Washington State Department of Health standards.
  • Interacts with guests in a manner that makes them feel comfortable and welcome.
  • Serves general items such as soups, salads, appetizers and entrees to serving areas.
  • Properly sets up the serving tray with all dishes and necessary plateware.
  • Takes food items to correct table quickly and efficiently without dropping tray.
  • Sets up to go orders and leftover food for guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical demands and work environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
