Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an Entry-Level Highway Design Engineer to join AECOM's Transportation team in Pittsburgh, PA.
This position is scheduled to begin in Summer 2027.
As an Entry Level Highway Design Engineer, you will gain experience working as part of a team on a wide range of transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area.
You will build analytic and design skills, create designs, perform calculations, and draft construction plans under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Design of roadway geometry, traffic control, signing and pavement markings.
  • Utility coordination support.
  • Computer Aided Design production.
  • Calculation of quantities and cost estimates.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Related experience in a relevant internship or professional work experience in support of transportation design.
  • FE/EIT (any state).
  • Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing, and other standard Office software.
  • Demonstrate effective time management, task prioritization, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment.
  • Professionalism in verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities/work schedules.
  • Receptive to comments and direction provided by others.
