Job description

Our clientย is seeking a Fire Protection Design Engineer to fill an opening in Harrison, OH!

We are looking for either one Senior Level or one Junior Level depending upon the experience. For this role, the applicant would be a fire protection designer to design special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software applications, adhering to local, national, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Direct contractors in the proper installation and operation of systems.
  • Survey job sites to ensure proper system design and installation.
  • Read, review, and implement customer-supplied project specifications.
  • Attend manufacturer training classes and other continued education training
  • Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Update existing drawings.
  • Assist office staff with engineering-related tasks such as process improvement.
  • Assist with system inspection and maintenance (if needed).
  • Assist in system startups and commissioning (if needed).

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the Fire Protection Industry is required
  • Previous experience as a Design Engineer
  • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drafting.
  • Knowledge and efficient use of 3D design software.
  • Understanding of MS Office applications.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information.
  • Desire to learn industry standards.
  • Willingness to study for and obtain NICET certification.
