Job description
Klassic Recruiting in partnership with DBI Construction Consultants is seeking motivated Estimator/Project Managers for their Miami, FL location. DBI Construction Consultants specializes in building damage evaluation and cost consulting, primarily to clients in the insurance claims industry. We are seeking candidates with expertise in construction damage evaluation and repair cost estimating to fill an Entry Level Estimator position in our Miami office.
DBI's core function is identification and evaluation of damage to buildings resulting from any number of causes including fire, flood, broken water/fire sprinkler piping, wind (hurricanes, tornadoes), and earthquakes, among others. Damages are noted and documented during physical inspections of subject properties and an appropriate repair scope and cost estimate for repairs necessary to restore a subject property to pre-damaged condition is formulated and presented in a technical report for our clients.
The fundamental skills required for this position include:
Understanding of construction principles and technology, building damage evaluation, and commercial construction estimating.
Candidates with insurance industry experience, particularly in commercial property damage claims adjusting, are encouraged to apply.
We are also interested in people with experience in the remediation/restoration industry. Educational backgrounds in engineering, architecture, construction project management, and related areas of academic study are a plus.
Candidates with experience in building or remodeling trades will also be considered.
Applicants should have above average verbal and written communication facilities and the ability to present themselves confidently in meetings and negotiations.
Additionally, the position requires a high level of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, and, particularly, Excel).
Experience with Xactimate and Bluebeam Revu are particularly valuable as well, as is some knowledge of construction scheduling programs such as Primavera or MS Project. (Can be trained on these Softwares)
The position includes traveling for inspections of damaged structures and for follow-up meetings with other industry professionals, often locally and regionally, but also to other areas of North America and, occasionally, abroad.
