Associated Fire Protection is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Fire Protection Sprinkler Helper to join our team. This position offers hands-on training in installing, inspecting, testing, performing repairs and maintaining fire sprinkler systems, as well as various types of fire protection systems and equipment as needed. Essential Functions- including but not limited to:

  • Apprentices will acquire knowledge to work as a fire protection technician with the ability to inspect, install, and service fire protection sprinkler systems.
  • Skills developed during this apprenticeship will not only enable participants to work in the fire protection industry but will also provide them with skills that are directly transferable to other industries including plumbing, HVAC, and electronics.
  • Complies with federal, state, and company employment and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, employees and other correspondences both orally and in writing.
  • Attitude and actions are in line with companyโ€™s mission statement, vision and values
  • Keep appointments and show up to work on time.

General Functions

  • This position includes a lot of interaction with customers and coworkers. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and enjoy collaboration with others.
  • The successful candidate should read and be aligned with companyโ€™s mission statement, vision and values.
Requirements:

Qualifications, Experience and Education- including but not limited to:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand English is required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License.
  • OSHA 10 preferred.
  • Use of tools/electrical or HVAC preferred.
  • Computer literate.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with the companyโ€™s safety and employment policies.
