Americom Technologies LLC is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in our OSP Department. The OSP Department is responsible for underground infrastructure placing conduit, fiber, and copper to support telecommunications, data networks, and fire mitigation.

Our project portfolio includes work for government agencies, educational facilities, industrial and retail properties, commercial real estate, telecom organizations, data centers, contractors, and consultants. Americom is a subsidiary of Crestone Services Group.
JOB SUMMARY
The Cable Technician I supports the installation and service of structured cabling systems, including voice, data, and video infrastructure. This entry-level role works under the direction of a Lead Technician and contributes to the efficient and safe build out of communication networks across copper, fiber optic, and wireless systems. The position requires physical labor, basic tool proficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to follow technical instructions in commercial construction and retrofit environments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install and route low-voltage cabling (voice, data, video) as directed by Lead Technician or Project Supervisor.
  • Assist with termination, labeling, testing, and documentation of copper and fiber cable systems.
  • Safely use hand tools and power tools required for daily tasks (e.g., drills, screwdrivers, cable snips).
  • Maintain a proper inventory of hand tools, including cable snips, Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, and a torpedo level.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and participate in job hazard analysis (JHA) and safety meetings.
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites, vehicles, and work areas throughout the workday.
  • Support delivery, staging, and secure handling of materials and tools on job sites.
  • Complete administrative and field documentation as required (e.g., time cards, change orders, truck tickets).
  • Participate in company training programs, which include on-the-job equipment and task training, in-person and classroom safety instruction, and online safety and compliance courses.
  • Perform general physical tasks including digging, raking, shoveling, lifting, and cable placement overhead and underground.
  • Conduct basic vehicle and equipment inspections and maintain cleanliness and operational readiness.
  • Assist in job site security checks and maintenance of yard and storage areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support installation teams and project schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Utah driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs. and move safely on ladders and in confined spaces.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and Level 3 background check.
  • Must possess good range of physical motion and ability to lift and install cable overhead.
  • Ability to travel for out-of-town assignments, including occasional weekends.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all site protocols.

CERTIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)
  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, and moving equipment.
  • May be required to work extended hours, evenings, or weekends depending on project needs.
  • Travel between multiple job sites as required.
  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Climb ladders, enter vaults, and confined spaces.
