Job description

Who we are

We're on a mission to bring joy to the business of events. Weddings, galas, festivals... the moments that people remember the most are put on by dozens of small businesses working together behind the scenes to bring that experience to life. These businesses have historically run off of software that doesn't meet their needs, spreadsheets, or even memory.

Goodshuffle Pro runs the end-to-end operations of event rental companies - invoicing, payment processing, inventory management, and the logistics of getting a warehouse worth of equipment to a venue and back at precisely the right time. Rental companies are one piece of everything that goes into an event, and we're changing how the whole industry operates together.

Some of us are event nerds, some of us are tech nerds, and some of us are both - but all of us are passionate problem-solvers who care about helping our users succeed. Our values describe how we work:

Sincerely Care - about yourself, about your team, about your work.

Speak Up - liberally share knowledge, seek to solve, recognize and appreciate.

Learn from Everything - listen intently, stay curious. Don't fear failure; fear not learning.

Show Up - come prepared, execute diligently, honor accountability.

What you'll do

You'll set the standard for how the Product Team operates - everything from product discovery to infrastructure management.ย

Decide what we build. Take our least-defined problems and turn them into plans that people can actually execute - phases, sequencing, KPIs. In your first few months, you'll visit warehouses, talk directly with dozens of vendors, and get to know the mechanics of how our industry operates across markets. Understanding the people you build for is essential in knowing what to build.

Own how we build it.ย Every problem comes with exciting and challenging technical tradeoffs. You should be an expert in everything from building polished UIs to distributed systems design. As a Staff Engineer, you'll also work to improve predictability and accelerate the velocity of the entire Engineering Team.ย ย

Raise the AI ceiling.ย AI is changing daily, and we are changing just as fast. You will have a critical role in the agentic workflows that allow us to deliver value faster. Every stage of the pipeline has opportunities for agents to manage routine work, freeing us up to focus on creativity and innovation.ย

Build systems our customers rely on. Own the health of production systems and ensure the team has full visibility into every detail. Production support looks different in the age of AI, and you'll accelerate how the team keeps systems reliable alongside building net new product.

Who you are

You make other people faster, and you measure your success that way. You try things yourself before asking a team to adopt them, and you know where your teammates get stuck because you've asked.

You notice drift. The three different ways we do the same thing, the standard that quietly stopped being followed. You spot it before anyone else, get input, decide, and then make it stick with documentation and training.

You hold a lot of context across people, projects, and systems, without needing to be re-briefed. You catch what others typically miss.

You bring people together.ย Engineers, Designers, Customer Experience, GTM, and Leadership each come with a different perspective, and you bring them all together.
