Job Title: Deployment Engineer

Locations: Jacksonville, FL or New York, NY or Boston, MA | Hybrid

Get To Know Us:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Deployment Engineer to join our team at SS&C Advent. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and support of software deployments for our critical financial applications, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance for our clients.
What You Will Get To Do:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute software deployments for Advent's financial software products to client environments, including upgrades, patches, and new installations.
  • Develop and maintain deployment documentation, including installation guides, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Automate deployment processes and build continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and support teams to ensure successful deployments and address any pre- or post-deployment issues.
  • Perform post-deployment validation and testing to verify system functionality and performance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployment-related issues, working with clients and internal teams to resolve problems promptly
  • Participate in the weekend upgrade work and provide critical deployment support as needed.
  • Identify and implement best practices for software deployment, configuration management, and system administration.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for deployment failures and implement preventative measures.


What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a software deployment, release engineering, or DevOps role.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience with deployment automation tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy).
  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux Server operating systems and database technologies (SQL Server preferred).
  • Familiarity with network configurations and infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with financial software or the fintech industry is a plus
